Game Structure:

  • No kickoffs, timeclock, or quarters.

  • Yards are gained or lost based on the difference in pins knocked down per frame.

  • Traditional football rules apply.

Example:

A strike on offense vs. a strike on defense results in a no gain. A 9-spare on offense vs. a 6-spare on defense results in a 3-yard gain for the offense.

Teams and Lanes:

  • On a single lane, odd position bowlers are the home team.

  • On a pair of lanes, the left lane is the home team.

  • Home team starts on offense from their own 25-yard line.

4th Down:

  • On or outside the opponent's 35-yard line: automatic punt.

  • On or inside the opponent's 30-yard line: automatic field goal.

  • On the opponent's 31, 32, 33, or 34-yard line: offense attempts to make a first down.

Overtime:

  • In the event of a tie, a field goal is awarded to the team with the highest pinfall in the 10th frame.
